Harvest Time!

Well this year's garden has been amazing! We put a big 'ol fence around it this year to keep out the local critters...I don't mind sharing but they can be a bit pushy! ;o)
I don't recall if I planted my punkin's a little early, but the stems are browning and I had to get them hauled outta there because the march of the squash bugs are getting pretty bad. Bleck. I have this one punkin' who has taken it upon itself to grow into a monster. My husband built a little hammock for it to help keep it from breaking off too early.

This is during the summer, everything's all green....

And here was yesterday....

So we weighed it.
Wasn't as heavy as I remember even a month ago, I think those pesky squasher's were sippin' on my big baby!
22.4 lbs.!

And a family photo

Sadly those bugs killed off at least a half dozen of their kin :o{

This guy was also 39" around and 15" tall, not counting the stem.

I just love pumpkins! I picked two smaller ones and have some big ones I'm leaving on the vine until they are ready. Next year I think I will plant a lot more different varieties.

I did some mini baby boo's too that turned out great, but early. I do think in my gardening excitement I planted too early! LOL
