The Light - Day 25

There will be no more night.
They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light.
And they will reign forever and ever.
   Revelation 22:5

It's all about an eternal life with Him;
the Light of the world!

Thank you for taking this 25 Days of Light journey with me!
Have a very blessed Christmas!

The Light - Day 24

In my addiction I was in the dark dancing with the devil then I caught a glimpse of the light and kept following until the darkness went away.  Now the light is on all the time! -- K.P.

Here's another way to put it....  YOU are HERE to be LIGHT,
bringing out the God-colors in the world.
God is not a secret to be kept.
We're going public with this,
as public as a city on a hill.
If I make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket, do you?
I'm putting you on a light stand. Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand - - SHINE!
Keep open house; be generous with your lives.
By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.

May your light shine for all to see!

The Light - Day 23

Light Means:  Extinguisher of darkness

Definition: to take fire

In the light, can sometimes mean we're in the fire of purification.  The heat of life doesn't always feel good; but it does us good.  We are to learn, and be shaped in the fire.  Then there are those heated moments we have been in because of choices we have made.  Thank God, He can come in and extinguish the fire; recover us from disaster!

The Light - Day 22

Definition: A noteworthy person in a particular place or field; luminary

Light, when suddenly let in, dazzles and hurts and almost blinds us: but this soon passes away, and it seems to become the only element we can exist in.
~ Augustus William Hare and Julius Charles Hare
Guesses at Truth, by Two Brothers, 1827

The Light - Day 21

A LIGHT SWITCH

I choose when its on
I choose when its off
I have been given a choice between the two
When on;  I can see
When off;  I search for it
It looks so different in every home
It all works though with the same internal power
Many components are involved in its master plan
The direction of the switch though is given to me b free choice
Bu the Power within goes forever and is always available
How I maintain it; reflects how it manifests
I choose Light over darkness
No matter the cost!

The Light - Day 20

Light:  A safe place where I can own and reveal my brokenness.
~ R.E.

The holidays aren't always the best time of year for some people.
It's a season of physical, emotional, and spiritual darkness.
Depression and suicide are at a higher rate
during this time as well.

I've known a couple of people who have taken their own lives... one recently, a friend of our son's. He was just a kid, 23, and we hadn't seen him around for awhile as his life was consumed with alcohol, drugs, and hanging with the wrong people. I am filled with grief over this as I remember when he and his brother would hang out with our boys, ride bikes, hike through the woods, and gosh were these guys always hungry! There was always some kind of snack or fresh baked treat for all these guys. He was baptized right along side our boys a few years ago too....so how does one go from the top - with God - to where this child ended up?

I ask myself... what in the world can be so bad for you to take your own life!  I mean, there's no going back from this! We've all been in dark places at one time or another in our lives. I know I've hit rock bottom years ago and honestly, wondered why I was even here, what was the point. I didn't have the Lord in my life at that time. Maybe that's why I like the movie classic, It's a Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart. We never know how we affect others as we go through life, but we are not here by accident!
God Loves!
God Saves!
God is reaching out His mighty hand for you!

Job cursed the day he was born wishing God wouldn't have brought light to his life. (read Job 3).
There's hope for a time as this; it's the Light that illuminates a life of pain, despair, worthlessness, and grief.

If this is your truth, then pray this prayer:

Abba Father, I give you this season in my life.  I trust you with each and every minute though I don't feel like it nor know how.  Your Word says joy comes in the morning; that is when the brightest light appears.  Just like you did for Job, show me the wonder of your love.  Deliver me from this darkness so that I may gladly tell of your deliverance during this time of year.  Send your angels amongst me to support and love me; even if that is of human form.  May they show understanding, compassion and a desire for every area of my life to be known.  I thank you that you are a God that hears and most of all answers when a child calls home. In Jesus' wonderful name;  Amen!

The Light - Day 19

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.  Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said:

"Wake up, O sleeper,
rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you."

We are told to expose the darkness. There are situations that seem to not be right, but we might now expose them because they don't have anything to do with us personally.  It's hard to do the right thing when you might stand out for it.  But outfitted with the armor of God, you can do all things.

The Light - Day 18

REST IN HIS LIGHT OF LOVE TODAY!

A sensitive plant in a garden grew,
And the young winds fed it with silver dew,
And it opened its fan-like leaves to the light,
and closed them beneath the kiddes of night.
  ~ Percy Bysshe Shelley,
"The Sensitive Plant," 1820

The Light - Day 17

What is He guiding you with today?
He longs to show us His destination in this life for us.
His view and knowing are greater than ours.
He always see's the bigger picture,
and we can only see what is in front of us.
May your heart be enlightened today with
hope, faith, and love.

The Light - Day 16

Light:  The path worth following because you can see where you are going.

"Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.  Everyone who does evil hates the light and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.  But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
John 3:19-21

We are told we have the Holy Spirit within us to guide us into all Truth.
What better light and direction than the one that has been prepared for us!
May we give thanks to the Spirit within, and may we shine with His Light!

The Light - Day 15

Who is more foolish, the child afraid of the dark or the man afraid of the light?
   ~ Maurice Freehill

I will lead the blind by ways they have not known,
along unfamiliar paths I will guide them;
I will turn the darkness into light before them
and make the rough places smooth.
These things I will do;
I will not forsake them.
    ~ Isaiah 41:16

Doesn't that just ease your mind?  When He asks us to go down an unfamiliar place in our lives; out of our comfort zone... He goes with us!  It's okay to step out in faith.  He makes it right by guiding us.  I Jesus asking you to step onto an unfamiliar path; a new job, a new ministry, or possibly a different standard of living?

The Light - Day 14

When life circumstances look darker, sources of light look even brighter.  No matter what, God wants to be a constant source of light and hope in our lives.

One of the enemy's greatest tactics is to keep people so busy doing so many things that there isn't time
for the most important thing of all -- JESUS.  We need to make time, to spend time daily with Him and in His Word... make it a priority in our lives and everything else falls into place.  I find that when I read what He has written for me, my day goes better, my attitude is in the right place, I'm filled with His Spirit! I'm not saying everything is always roses... there will be trials on this earth... but this place is not my HOME!  Amen!

Try to simplify your life a bit to make room for Him. And as always, if you're not sure how....
SIMPLY ASK HIM!
He loves it when you call upon His name and longs to have a relationship with you!
Simplify your life today so you can receive the light and understanding He desires to give to you.

The Light - Day 13

A sensible man will remember that the eyes may be confused in two ways - by a change from light to darkness or from darkness to light; and he will recognize that the same thing happens to the soul.  ~ Plato

"No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead he puts it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light. Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are bad, your body also is full of darkness. See to it then, that the light within you is not darkness. Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you." ~ Luke 11:33-36 (NIV)

Have you ever wondered about how media, culture, society, t.v.,
magazines, internet, billboards and books affect you?
Whatever your eyes look upon feeds the spirit.
Whatever you take in really does affect you!

I found this cool video on youtube... if you'd like to watch it, go to the site below.
It's a neat little take on This Little Light of Mine!

The Light - Day 12

Sometimes our paths just seem dark as we walk out this life; and ther eis no wiser thing to do but allow the Word of God to direct us. We can find ourselves fallen off sometimes if the sides of the path seem just as smooth. So when we're in question of what to do, where to go, and how to go about anything; we know just right where to look!

Ask Jesus to show you anything you're not sure about in His Word.
You just might find a little light that confirms
you are on the right track!

The Light - Day 11

In the midst of darkness there is a Light
A shining star in the darkest night
When our way is troubled and our path not clear
The Light will shine too so have no fear
What is this Light, or should I say who
That brightens the world for me and you?
God is Light and in Him dwells
No darkness at all, the Bible tells
Receive His love and walk in the Light
For He's calling to you on this lonely night.

  ~ David Caray

The Light - Day 10

Light gives of itself freely, filling all available space. It does not seek anything in return; it asks not whether you are friend or foe. It gives of itself and is not thereby diminished. ~ M.S.

"God has loved you for a long, long time. He loved you before you were even born. You are in His thoughts a thousand times over. He loves you from the heights and from the depths of His being. His love covers you today, and clothes you with beauty. You live in the atmosphere of His love, and inhale it with every breath of your spirit. His love is the LIGHT within you and the GRACE upon you...it is the HOPE in your heart and the SONG of your lips...it is the STRENGTH in your hands and the PATHWAY of your footsteps."
     Roy Lessin (Forgiven)

It's funny how parents say, "Well I'm only saying this because I love you"; that's what God is saying to us through His commands. It's so we can see exactly how much we need Him.

The Light - Day 9

It is a warning to us all that there really are people among us that proclaim to be that of God, and may even seem to be acting as the hands and feet of Jesus; but their motives are not that of what it seems. Satan can really make a path look beautiful, a job seem perfect, a desiring thought so fulfilling, but it leads to destruction.Watch out for false prophets.

The Light - Day 8

At one time in our lives we have all been in a pit of slime, that's been our unifying cry, "more light."
Sunlight
 Torchlight
Candle Light
Lights that banish the darkness and illuminate everything around us.
Light is more than watts and foot candles.
Light is a metaphor.
Light is knowledge.
Light is life.
Light is Light.

The Light - Day 7

Definition: Lighthouse or Beacon

As the star was the light and sign for the wise men to follow to find the baby in a manger so is the Word of the Living God. The Word is the Light that guides us, instructs us, loves us, and lights our path to eternity with Him. The Light always guides to Jesus because He is the Light. We physically cannot survive without light. You really can't survive without Jesus.

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him."  ~ Matthew 2:1-2

The Light - Day 6

Definition: Spiritual illumination

In the Old Testament, prophesy of the coming of Jesus is spoken in many forms, symbols, etc., and one of them is LIGHT

I have come into the world as a light, so that no one believes in me should stay in darkness. ~ John 12:46

When the seasons change from autumn to winter; the darkness seems to overtake. He had to come save us from the dark destination in which we deserve. We have another choice; we don't have to stay there!
He came just for you!
He wants to help you live in the Light of Him!

Ask God to show you today any darkness in you.
If you are enlightened, confess to Him and turn from sin into His Light Of Grace and Forgiveness.

The Light - Day 5

Definition:  Something that enlightens or informs

Then Jesus told them this parable: Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the 99 in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.'  I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over 99 righteous persons who do not need to repent.  ~ Luke 15: 3-7

WOW!  To even try to imagine being with Jesus and rejoicing in heaven with Him!!!
To get my little pea brain wrapped around a loving God that wants me with Him!!

God spared nothing in His search for you! He gathered the greatest search party that has ever been formed in order to find you. He sent His Son, His Spirit, and His angels after you. As they searched, He had his people pray. You will never fully know how deep, how thorough, and how costly His search was. You do not belong to Him today because of chance, or accident, or a stroke of fate or luck. You are His because He never gave up His search until He found you!

You've probably seen the picture above before.... but I look at the expression on Jesus face in this one and think.... He is so happy to have me in His life!!!

The Light - Day 4

Jesus is the Light of the World.
He brings hope and goodness, it means light - not heavy hearted, it signifies the truth to me, not something to hide in the dark, but to bring out into the light, to face things as they are rather than putting a mask on them. That we are called to be the light to others through Christ Jesus --- and to bring light, hope, goodness and truth to others.  ~ C.H.

LIGHT OF THE WORLD

Once bound by darkness, but now living free,
To walk in God's light and rest in His grace.
A glorious truth, my heart would agree,
Once bound by darkness, but now living free.
In His rich love, Christ gave Himself for me,
All hope is found in His saving embrace.
Once bound by darkness, but now living free,
To walk in God's light and rest in His grace.

The Light - Day 3

Definition: A candle

There are two ways of spreading light; to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.
  ~ Edith Wharton

In the Bible there are several verses containing the words lamps and candle sticks.  It's interesting that during our holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas; going into the darkest part of our season, is when most bring out those items in our present culture and society.  In Exodus 35 it clearly talks about the gifts brought to the tabernacle but notice how several verses refer to.... "all whose hearts were willing".  The willing part is the Light of God that has come to pass.

The Light - Day 2

Definition of light: The sensation aroused by stimulation of the visual receptors

He is the Light that shines on us, in us, and through us.  How we choose to accept the Light within us shows by how we let Him shine through us.  It's a place of warmth and acceptance when God shines on us.  Have you felt or been stimulated by Him or seen His light today?  People believe in actions more than words; they are stimulated by what they see not what they are told. Actions speak much louder than words.

The Light ~ Day 1

We're doing a 25 day devotional at our church this year and I am going to "try" to post every single day, starting now, for the next 25 days and share what this is all about. I hope you enjoy it and will stop back by!

DAY 1:

Definition of light: Something that makes vision possible

From the very beginning of time, light has been an important symbol and need to our Heavenly Father. In the beginning of creation, He couldn't be among the darkness; so He spoke light into existence.  This is how the very first day of existence began; splitting light from the darkness and calling it Day and Night.  The night couldn't even be completely dark as He desired there to be a lesser light. We are not to be in darkness.

We can speak light into our day as well, starting today; may it be a day of light and not darkness. It's a choice to see the light of the day God has given us.

New Creation

Morning all! Hope your Halloween was frightfully good! We had another year of Trunk or Treat at our church... many show up with their cars 'n trucks... sometimes the vehicles are decorated and sometimes the people! We usually have over 200 mini ghouls, fairies, action heroes and critters parade through our parking lot with bags and parents in tow. The costumes are so adorable and everyone has such a great time.

Last night I added my new Early Works offering in my shoppe... it's something I finished before my hand surgery and was saving for now. Click below to visit my shoppe!

Also, I'm going to be having some kind of sale in November.... so over to the right is a poll... let me know WHAT kind of sale you'd like to see. And if it's something not listed there.... feel free to add it here in the comments of what you'd like!

The healing begins.....

Well I haven't been the bestest blogger this year - a lot of stuff going on, but my hand issues have been the most debilitating.  It's affected my work and my creating... but this too shall pass.

So.... I've had the hand surgery, it'll be two weeks tomorrow.... the healing feels slow to me, but maybe the Lord is working on my patience.  ;o)    I'll have four lovely scars... 2 for the carpal tunnel, 1 for the tendinitis, and 1 for something on the top of my hand called a ganglia. That last one was some kind of fluid on my hand restricting my range of motion, and it turned out to be the biggest cut at 1" long and so far seems to be giving me the most pain.
Yes I took pics and No I decided not to post them! LOL
Yes I did just one hand because, well, there are just some things I don't want my husband to help me with! :o)

I'm trying to be a good patient and not push it.  I'm doing my little hand exercises and appreciating what it takes to lift a cup of coffee!

My plan was to take two weeks off work and now I'm wondering if that'll be enough! Yikes! My doc said it'll take a good 6 weeks for everything to start working right, but who can take off that long! Double Yikes! Will have to make that big 'ol decision by this weekend.... and of course, my family says.... don't rush it or you'll pay for it the rest of your life.  Message received.

Gettin' old ain't fer sissies!

My husband has been so fabulous... doing dishes and laundry and such.... by the time I get real used to this queen treatment.... it'll be gone like the wind!  That it's starting to bother me if there's a glass or two needing washing, I know I'm healing! hehehe  ;o)

I have a creation sitting here looking at me.... so close to being done and yet... doubt it'll happen... takes long enough to type!  So I am working on some other things that don't require the use of a needle, only a mouse... which can be a little challenging too....I hope to show them soon! Hope you like them!

In the meantime... it's one day at a time....trying to keep my sense of humor and getting to see my grandson a little bit more now that I can kinda sorta drive left handed to get there! haha!  At least they aren't far away and no main roads! Shhhhh

So.... since it's such a beautiful fall day.... I'm heading outside to enjoy the changing leaves and not get upset as I stroll through my gardens, wishing I could do some playin' in the dirt!  :O)
