Definition: Lighthouse or Beacon
As the star was the light and sign for the wise men to follow to find the baby in a manger so is the Word of the Living God. The Word is the Light that guides us, instructs us, loves us, and lights our path to eternity with Him. The Light always guides to Jesus because He is the Light. We physically cannot survive without light. You really can't survive without Jesus.
After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him." ~ Matthew 2:1-2

Ahhhhh. This is why we must continue to keep "Christ" in Christmas.
